The Alleys of Shanghai

Bride And Her Shoe On The Red Bed

shanghai wedding documentary photography

We were the kind of wedding vendors that wanted to know everything, like minute per minute, almost.

Nothing wrong with that. It used to give us some good sense of security knowing that we wouldn’t miss anything from what the bride and groom had planned.

We decided to change a few things, though. We actually used to feel so much pressure every moment of the day knowing everything that was supposed to happen that we were always thinking on what was coming and not only on what was in front of us. So much energy and attention was wasted on things that we were expecting but would change in the last moment. Something similar to what used to happen with all the equipment we would bring at weddings and would end up being more of a distraction, really, instead of something that would make our work better.

So we relaxed our ultra-perfectionist working timeline, and we simplified our approach to equipment and tools. As our working approach became more relaxed, and our timing or planning of the schedule became less specific, also our work started to experience some sort of freedom. Not only the planned moments like first looks or dress reveals and ceremonies or letters and gift exchanges were important…

Everything acquired the same level of importance.
