One thing that we didn’t anticipate with weddings in Mexico is that they’ve taken us to some beautiful places all over the country. Lately it’s all been very tropical with weddings at popular beach destinations, but we have a lot more diverse locations coming up soon, we’re pretty excited. For now, we are happy to share with you this wedding, which we shot in Puerto Vallarta as we started the new year.
In the past few days, we’ve been thinking a lot about what moves us to continue capturing weddings. We’ve said it before, for us the main point here at ROBERT OBERG is in the craft itself. We have put the art of making images on top of the business or societal expectations. Of course, the business side of all this is super important, but by allowing our personal passion guide this enterprise, it is that we’ve found our way.
Yes, we do love image-making. Capturing moments, being surprised by the unexpected, feeling something and reacting to it, making a millisecond stand out in time. But even more, we love people. We love their emotions, their interactions, their natural and unique ways of being themselves. By emphasizing the photo-journalistic aspect of weddings, we capture our clients just as they are, and at the same time we capture moments that truly move us in every way. Truly, weddings have allowed us both to connect with others and with ourselves in such a beautiful way.
We know that our work doesn’t fit everyone, and that’s okay. By shooting photography with our heart and putting our own personal vision in what we do, we know that people that connect with our work will automatically connect with us. We are thankful.
