Suddenly, from out of nowhere Robin reached out to us telling us about their wedding day and the possibility for us to photograph it. In all our career there’s been few cases where everything just seems to work as fast and as smoothly from the first point of contact. Like… we just had a quick chat with Robin and Melani and next thing we knew is that we were getting ready to shoot their wedding.
For years now we’ve called our work something something along the lines of ‘capturing moments.’ Of course, the easiest route has alway been to be associated with the word ‘documentary,’ but since this means different things to different people we thought it best to say that our photography is all about moments, spontaneity, life as it happens, capturing unposed reality, etc.
Interestingly enough, everyone also seem to have their own definition of what real moments are supposed to be or look like. Especially on regards to weddings.
So here’s the thing. We’ve come to understand that more than our approach on how we shoot, or more than the aesthetics and the beauty of the craft of photography itself, the main point of connection that we seek with our clients is in how we see and appreciate not only the wedding as a special event, but even more the people in it. If the friends, the guests, the family, and one another are already the top priority for our clients, and if they love the essence of all of this people and want to capture it… that’s where our work starts to make sense.
It’s not rocket science, really. We just use wedding photography as an excuse to capture life, relationships, and all kinds of emotions.
We think that the wedding of Robin and Melani was a perfect match for us, for our brand, for our work, and our vision. We really do believe this. They are the kind of people we had in mind when we created the ROBERT OBERG brand, and we are thankful for the opportunity of documenting this day in Atlixco, Puebla for them. Happy to share with you some of our favorite shots!
