So much of what we do has to do with perspective. Anyone can press the camera shutter, and anyone can click record. The thing where the decisions come into play is in choosing what is captured, what transcends, how experience and a personal vision comes together in a single frame or sequence. In other words, what we, as creators are looking for. Our clients are not only looking for a service, they choose us because they want our point of view. Their day is filtered through our vision.
Interestingly enough, I think our wedding films or our wedding photography are not only about the memories of a day. I think our work is more about connection and the experience that this creates. We connect with what we do, we find pieces of the day and elements that connect with one another, and it all creates a personal connection as a result with the viewer. I find it fascinating. It truly is like a translating process.
