This wedding happened before social distancing and masks. It was before the size of weddings were limited. And yet, it’s the smallest wedding we’ve ever filmed.
We say that we love making our work like a portrait of our clients, their friends, and families, but we still find that there is a very strong idea of what “wedding videos” or “wedding photography” should be. Sometimes we just don’t fit in that circle. Instead of going against the tide, though, what we’ve been trying to do is just be as transparent as possible about our ideas, our beliefs, our values, and finding clients that connect with that.
It was just something special to have this couple open the doors of their house to let us in and show us totally who they were. Literally showing us their place, cooking a meal for us, and letting us capture their life as it is. The traveling to Japan to film their wedding was an incredible adventure on its own, but more fascinating for us was the personal connection that happened first. It is amazing to find people that just get what we are doing. It truly is.
