In the Midst of Silence

We completed this one a while back. It’s a Feature, 17 minutes long, so we invite you to grab a cup of coffee and enjoy this film.

I’ve mentioned this before. Usually, I feel like the amount of time that goes in our films goes unnoticed. There’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work that happens while we build a narrative structure, create a tone, develop the rhythm, connect scenes, etc. In the end, we are trying to find things that are personal, important, that have emotion, that feel honest, and we try to emphasize all of that in a piece that makes sense cinematically and is engaging at the same time. In our case at least, all of this is a process that often times goes on for weeks. But… there’s been a few exceptions, this film being one of them.

These clients were so transparent, so trustful, and so sincere, that so much of the material we shot felt like gold when going through it. It made the editing so easy. Like… unbelievably easy. In our work we are not looking for the spectacular or the display of amazing shots. For us the wedding is just the context, but in reality we want to portray the beauty of the real, the normal, the everyday side of people. That is just what we found in this wedding.

We are so happy with how this film turned out. Honestly, we are so glad that we were able to honor the spirit of the day, capture true personalities, and didn’t try to overcomplicate things with crazy editing or complicated structures. I think this Feature Film is very simple, very minimal, and yet it totally represents our brand and what we stand for.
